Break Into the Maryland Recreational Cannabis Industry

We want YOU to work in cannabis!

As the industry expands in Maryland and beyond, there is an increasing need for employees in the expansion and creation of cannabis companies, and there’s also a lot of people wanting to get into the cannabis industry but aren’t sure how. The MCA is offering a bridge to help that disconnect with their new Workforce Development Program, a completely free educational program for individuals wanting to develop career-building skills in the cannabis industry, with priority consideration given to applicants with a history of cannabis-related justice system involvement.

A partnership between MCA and EARN Maryland, this program provides a cumulative 100 hours of virtual and in-person training for retail, processing and cultivation careers. The 8 self-paced virtual courses are led by instructors who are experts in the industry, including licensed operators and college professors. After the virtual courses are completed, you are invited to enroll in a 2 day in-person course compiled of 16 hours of hands-on training. These in-person trainings will be offered once per month starting this November at various locations across the state.

  • November 2024: Baltimore Region
  • December 2024: Anne Arundel County
  • January 2025: Southern Region
  • February 2025: Prince George’s County
  • March 2025: Eastern Region
  • April 2025: Western Region

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis starting July 1, 2024.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to build an invaluable foundation of cannabis knowledge, and don’t forget to swing back to our hiring page when you’re done!
