5 WAYS TO UNWIND WITHOUT THE WEED:
At DC we understand how stressful it is for people out there right now. Inflation is sky-rocketing, The stock market is all over the place and let’s not even talk about the tariffs. While many people have added cannabis products like our Maxwell gummies(available at our DC location) to help our Wellness toolkit, there is no one cure-all. So in honor of mental health awareness month we want to give cannabis users 5 other ways to aid your well being, without the weed.
1. MUNCHING FOR THE MENTAL
When you get high, you get hungry, it’s a fact of life, But why not use those munchies to help your mental well-being. For example, snacking on dark chocolate can help satisfy your sweet tooth while activating dopamine receptors in the brain, which bring a mild sense of euphoria. Or the next time you take a bong hit eat a banana which contains amino acids that get converted into serotonin to help mood regulation.
2. GET HIGH DOING GOOD
Who wouldn’t enjoy taking a fat hit of a DC Liquid Diamonds cart, but there are few highs that can compare with helping others. Doing good and engaging in acts of kindness has been clinically proven to have a positive impact on our mental well-being. Once you’ve done your good deed, we know the perfect way to reward yourself.
3. LAUGHING YOGA
Turns out laughter really is the best medicine(followed closely by our Cherry Chem). Discovered by Madan Kataria in Mumbai, India in 1995, Laughing Yoga could help elevate your mood, lower your cortisol and make life a little more livable. The best part is you don’t have to travel across the globe to get your fix, there are several courses you can take online and connect with others looking for a laugh.
4. GET SOCIAL IRL (PASS IT IN PERSON)
Who amongst us hasn’t smoked some reefer and gone down the social media rabbit hole? But while it may help pass the time, several studies have linked long term social media use to increased depression. Instead, put down your phone and meet up with some friends in real life. In a recent study of 13,000 people, having face-to-face contact with friends at least once per week was a strong predictor of better physical and mental health (a District Quickie is optional)
5. THE NOSE FOR GOOD.
What if we told you that you can get a little high, without even smoking our weed? According to research, smells can evoke powerful emotional memories, often associated with positive experiences. Those Layer Cake fans out there know exactly what we’re talking about. So before you roll it up, take the time to light your favorite candle or incense, and find a little zen before getting lifted.
WE’RE ALL ABOUT WELL BEING.
Whether it’s kicking back after a few hits of our liquid diamonds cart or laughing out loud, we’re here to help people find a little peace and tranquility at all of our DC and Maryland locations.
