June Needs to Chill

Yes, it’s the start of summer. We get it.
The weather’s popping off. Everyone is taking their sunset monument walks or selfie-ing their way down the Potomac River. But really, every holiday and event packed into one month? Seems excessive.
Let’s give one to dad. Sure, he can have his dedicated holiday. And the month that unofficially hard-launches BBQ season? Well, obviously there’s nothing better than evenings spent smoking a joint at the barbecue. But suddenly every weekend we’re on grill duty? June seriously needs to chill.
That said, when we’re sorting through the month’s endless events, some things are nonnegotiable. Juneteenth is one of them. The holiday that marks the actual end of slavery in the United States, June 19th, 1865, deserves more than just a long weekend. Pick and choose through the rest, but Juneteenth stays.
If you’re like us, you’ll say yes to everything, regret nothing, and run on a few hours less sleep all month long. Like any good stoner, we love an opportunity to chill outside with good weed, good vibes, and good music. So what’s our June lineup?
Where We’ll Be & What We’ll Smoke
Get ready for a full send. Chilling in the grass, rolling our green grass, and enjoying the best of DC’s summer kickoff events.
Nationals Games: What screams summer louder than gameday with a half-smoke and crab fries? Go for the vibes, stay for the munchies. Or, we guess some people actually watch the game, that’s cool too. We’ll be arriving in full DC spirit, charged up with some Blue Dream and ready to cheer for the home team.
Red Bull Spin Off DC: Extreme sport meets extremely strange spectacle. High-speed racing… on custom-made bicycles… on a floating track. Catch us front-row, and high enough to match the high-energy challenge. We’ll be getting into the summer mood with some flavor-blasted Berry Payton. Rolled and ripped at home with a nice summery stroll over to The Wharf.
Jazz in the Garden: Technically this started at the end of May but it really hits its stride in June. These iconic Friday evening concerts will feature everything from Americana to Creole jazz, Hill Country blues, contemporary jazz, and more. Obviously goes without saying, this is an indica-hybrid event. Gardens, flowers, and some mellow Gelato Cake flower to level out the evening? Gonna be a good month…
Giant Barbeque Battle: And to top it all off: excess on excess. June 27-28 marks the epic summer celebration of music and more than 100 free samples. Yes we will be there, and yes we will make sure to do our civic duty in trying every last flavor of BBQ. That said, we’ll need backup. If there ever was a time for a gummy, it’s this. We’ll be popping one of our all-time faves, WYLD’s Sour Apple Sativa Gummies and getting very, very lost in the (BBQ) sauce.
Summer Responsibly
Well, that’s a lot of fun to pack into one short month. And since we’re not here to encourage excess, you might have to pick and choose which events you’ll partake in this June: summer isn’t a sprint, it’s a marathon.
And what’s our all-time favorite way to slow down and enjoy the moment? Well… We think you can guess. Hence the grass-on-grass summer approach. Roll one up and let the afternoon unfold. Slowly, intentionally. And leave the excess to the Nationals’ half-smokes.
Half the year the weather sucks. It’s June, it’s gorgeous; go have some fun.
